Description

A colorized photograph postcard of the Newport pier with a blue and white boarder, like looking through a window frame at the scene. The photograph is taken from on the pier looking towards the beach with visitors standing along the edge of the pier and two flat-bed rail cars on the tracks with boards between them so people can sit or stand at a higher vantage point, as some are doing. The central white border is raised to create a true window or frame effect. Sent on July 17, 1911 from Mr. S. A. Beitiand in Newport Beach to his wife Mrs. S. A. Beitiand in Los Angeles California. Standard postcard back. Published by George O. Restall in Los Angeles and made in Germany. Series no. N. B. 03. Divided back. Back reads "The Rieder Post Card".
