Black and white postcard showing the view west on Wilson Street from East of River St. Note children on south sidewalk looking towards the camera. A young boy leans against a limestone wall. Street is cobble stone at this time no longer dirt, and sidewalks are cement. Early cars and horse-drawn wagons share the road. Streetlamps and power lines are placed at intervals along the side of the street.
Curtis Tires Vulcanizing sign visible on left. There are also signs for a tailor, sodas, a masonic lodge, and a park (Perhaps Laurelwood or Glenwood) that are accessible via the train or river. On the right a "Garage" advertising sign hangs on power pole, possibly advertising that there is a garage down the street (River street). Other identifiable storefronts include C.S. Shaw Grocery, a meat market, Ice cream parlor, and Emerson-Brantingham Company across the bridge.Photograph Details
