Plaque made from a Certificate of Recognition by the Secretary of Defense William J. Perry (Feb 1994-Jan 1997) for Fiedler's service in the Cold War.

Context

Peter Fiedler was the first captain of the nuclear cruiser USS Texas (CGN-39) from October 1975 to January 1979. He supervised construction, and took official command on September 10, 1977, when the cruiser was commissioned.
