Context

Battleship Texas steamed, berthed, and operated alongside hundreds of ships from the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, and other fleets across the globe throughout her time in commission from 1914 to 1948. USS Nevada (BB-36) was the lead ship of her class of battleship, and commissioned from March 11, 1916, to August 29, 1946. She was sunk as a part of Operation “Crossroads” on July 31, 1946.
