Scope and Content

A 1943 Revision to the Signal Flags and Phonetic Alphabet. Contains forty different flags corresponding to A through Z, three "repeat" signals, one "code" signal, and the numbers 1-9, and 0. Morse code for each flag is also featured. The 1943 version is the fourth of five systems, and ran from 1943-1957.

Signal flags are a system of communications between ships abiding by the International Code of Signals.
