Flag of Admiral Manley H. Simons Rear Admiral on board USS Texas June 1936-1937 Flag was made while Admiral Simmons was stationed in San Francisco in 1935, before coming on battleship Texas

Context

Battleship Texas was flagship of Battleship Division One from September 15, 1931, to June 27, 1937. She continued to participate in Fleet Problems throughout this period. Rear Admiral flags had two stars atop each other. Standard flags were blue with white stars, subordinate were red with white stars. Subordinate flags were done away with by WWII.
