USS New York (BB-34) was the sister ship of USS Texas, and the lead ship of the New York-class battleships. She was commissioned from May 15, 1914, to August 29, 1946.
Certificate marks a sailor crossing over the equator for the first time. It is not an official award within the US Navy. Webb’s crossing, and subsequent ceremony occurrred on USS New York.Collection
