Description

USS Borie (DD-704) sails to the right, passing behind Texas as several smaller craft sail between. Men stand at attention on the starboard side of Texas. Back has written in pen "USS Texas 1948" and dated to April 21, 1948.

Context

The Battleship Texas Museum was operated by the Battleship Texas Commission from 1948 to 1983. She was located at San Jacinto State Park on the Houston Ship Channel. USS Borie (DD-704) was an Allen M. Sumner-class destroyer commissioned from September 21, 1944, to July 1, 1972. She was sold to the Argentinian Navy.
