Description

Texas has several liberty boats on her port side. Canvas cover over Turret 1. Ship faced left. Shore visible in background behind ship to left and right. Back incorrectly identifies the ship as USS Utah, which never had the tripod masts featured here.

Context

Battleship Texas was flagship of the United States Fleet from September 1, 1927, to September 15, 1931. Admirals Wiley, Pratt, and Chase served as Commander-in-Chief, United States Fleet in that time.
