Envelope sent from USS New York on the morning of July 1, 1946, when the ship was in Bikini Atoll for Operation Crossroads. Features an ATOMIC AGE stamp with a fleet silhouette, a US seal beneath, and the caption "Scientific Demonstration in the Pacific."

Context

USS New York (BB-34) was the sister ship of USS Texas, and the lead ship of the New York-class battleships. She was commissioned from May 15, 1914, to August 29, 1946.
