Battleship Texas largely escorted Allied ships across the Atlantic from January 1943 to April 22, 1944. She mainly sailed from New York to either the UK, Gibraltar, or Casablanca.
Robert Taylor served on both Battleship Texas, and her sister ship Battleship New York. He was a M1c and played the trumpet on both ships from late 1940 to July 1943, and elsewhere until his discharge in 1946.Collection
