Battleship Texas participated in various fleet maneuvers and exercises in the Atlantic Ocean (1919) and later Pacific Ocean from July 1919 through January 1924. Beginning in February 1923, maneuvers became known as Fleet Problems, which continued to 1939.
Marine Corps Dress Blues were the standard formal attire, and included a blue jumper that featured gilt buttons and red trim, blue slacks, white gloves, and a white peaked cap. Ribbons and marksmen medals could be worn on the left breast.
The Marine Corps had three different medals awarded for marksmanship prowess in ascending order: Marksmen, Sharpshooter, and Expert. There were identical medals for pistol marksmanship.Collection
