Battleship Texas began preparations for Operation “Overlord,” the invasion of Northern France, on April 22, 1944. She departed Belfast for Normandy on June 3, supported the landings from June 6 to June 16, and returned to England on June 18, 1944.
Herman W. Holland joined the crew of Battleship Texas on February 24, 1944, as F1c, made EM3c on June 1, 1944, and transferred to Lide Beach, New York on March 5, 1946, for discharge.
Ephriam Dickson was the executive director of Battleship Texas Foundation from June 1995 to February 1999. In addition to his duties, he conducted extensive research on and heavily collected items for the crew of Battleship Texas. He later donated his collection back to BTF.Collection
