Battleship Texas arrived in Scapa Flow on February 11, 1918, where she joined the British Grand Fleet. She patrolled the North Sea throughout 1918, escorted the German High Seas Fleet to surrender on November 21, and departed the Grand Fleet on December 1, 1918.
Edward J. Mosco enlisted in the Navy on February 15, 1917, on the deck of the Battleship New Jersey (BB-16). He would later be stationed on Battleship Texas from March 31, 1917, as a S2c until his discharge on July 15, 1919, directly from Texas after final cessation of WWI hostilities.
North Sea Days is an account of Battleship Texas in the North Sea during World War I, recorded by one of her crew. The book was written anonymously, and while there are no other credits indicating editor or publisher, it was widely circulated by the crew after the war.Collection
