Battleship Texas's WWII cruise book Blue cover with significant wear Owned by W. Dale Cole who served on Texas throughout the whole of WWII

Context

Weaver D. Cole enlisted on June 14, 1939, and later joined the crew of Battleship Texas as an apprentice seaman on September 9, 1939. He made MM2c on May 1, 1941, MM1c on February 1, 1942, Chief Machinist Mate on March 31, 1943, and departed from her crew on September 15, 1944. The United States Ship Texas * in World War II is a pictorial review of the accomplishments of Battleship Texas from her neutrality patrols in 1941 to the Japanese surrender. The book was published by the officers and men of her last cruise during the war. Cruise books are not official Navy publications, and operate similar to a yearbook complete with photographs from that ships cruise.
