Reproduction of a Bru doll. Victorian style. Moveable jointed arms & legs. Head is bisque with composition arms and legs. Open mouth with four teeth in porcelain. Cord attaching jointed arms and legs. Plastic on the interior that holds the ropes together. Paper weight glass fixed brown eyes, painted eyebrows and eyelashes. Reproduction brown synthetic hair with wringlets with two on each side of her face and three going down the back and short curly in the front with a bun on top. Lines for nose.
Machine stitched.
Mold for this doll was manufactured by a German company, Bruj with mold #13. You were able to purchase the body and make the head at a ceramic shop. Possibly made in the 1980's.
B. Burgundy/red and black flower, leaf and vine print jacket. It is red on the interior with the same print. No collar, but curves down around the neck. Two curved points at the bottom of the front and curved to a straight line on the back. Upper sleeve is gathered and there is black 1/2" lace at the cuff. Black lining on the front.
C. Burgundy and black matching skirt that is gathered at the waist. Stiffer Pelion like material as the lining. Opens at the back with a snap at the top edge.
D. Black satin sleeveless blouse with stitched hem. Jabot in front of lace netting with match-up stand up collar and two snaps in the back.
E. Black satin hat, cap style with flat back, three in brim and band between that features three sets of feathers. The feathers are basically deteriorated. Black facing ties.
F. Pantaloons of cream fabric with bias tape tie. 7/8" synthetic eyelet style lace at the bottom.
G. Socks- Synthetic cream colored socks with a woven diamond pattern. Folded with a darker edging.
H. Shoes are black velvet finish with a tie at the ankle and cut-out bow shape with a brad in the middle at the front.
Black blouse, satin hat that ties at the chin with brim and feather.
Original shoes and socks stored with doll, but deteriorated.Dimensions
