Description
Antique folding brass doll bed with coverlets
A. Antique folding brass doll bed with arched pole sides and wire mesh platform. Folds down completely as a "single" bed to store as compact as possible. Back goes up, base folds up and flat to the front, back then folds down to meet the base and form a "double" bed. Front legs when it is open are a single flat wire. The bed when closed has four posts on rollers.
Wire platform is similar to an antique base with circle pattern in the center.
B. 8.5" x 8.75" quilt made up of 1.625" square multi-colored blocks. The ten fabrics are arranged in a diagonal design and are perfectly on the straight of grain. Blocks are hand stitched together and attached to a ginger colored tricot layer with a straight machine stitch. The backing has not been turned, but cut to match the patchwork that has been folded under. Top layer has a finely crocheted 1/2" trim attached to the top with a hand applied running stitch. Scalloped lace is sewn down on the top by hand with white thread using a running stitch. Three corners are mitered and one is overlapped.
C. 10.5" square quilt made up of 1" square multi-colored blocks randomly placed. Blocks are hand stitched together and attached to a cream colored tricot layer with a narrow zig-zag machine stitch. Top layer has a finely crocheted 1/2" trim attached to the top with a hand applied running stitch. Backing of a thin white cotton that is unraveling and only attached in a few areas.
