Article on the death of Elizabeth Cahoon, wife of Thomas BAY VILLAGE Wednesday, Oct 7, at 3:30 p.m., Mrs. Elizabeth Hughes Cahoon, wife of the late Thomas H. Cahoon, long prominently identified with business interests in Cleveland, was laid to rest in Lakeside cemetery beside her husband and daughter, in the Cahoon family lot. For fifty years she had been a member of Old Stone church. Her pastor, Rev. A.B. Meldrum, officiated, assisted by Rev. Mickey, of Bethany Presbyterian church. The choir sang three selections at the residence, 5217 Franklin avenue, and Edwin H. Douglass, a long-time friend, sang most impressively at the burial, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." A large number of friends went from here to the final service in the quiet little "God's acre" beside the lake to testify their appreciation of a cherished friend. Many beautiful floral tributes of baskets and sprays of roses, dahlias, lilies, heliotrope and asters told of the esteem in which she was held. Mrs. Aaron Bullock and Miss Bullock came from Elyria to Mrs. Cahoon's funeral. Some additional news included in the article: On Sunday, October 11, a temperance program will be presented at the church services.
