Beaver top hat with original box. 2023.C.35.01A. Hat is beaver at the top with a black fabric brim and 1.5" grosgrain ribbon on the side with a flat bow. The underside of the brim in a black grosgrain fabric. Brown leather band around the inner area. Soft cream interior fabric with a cardboard like material at the top. Gold crest inside with the word KOHL in ink written on it. Three loops of nylon cord on the inside.
2023.C.35.01B. Cardboard box. Lid has Base is covered with black paper and has black cording that is knotted on the inside. Tag has 7 1/8 DUPLICATING NUMBER / [written in black ink: DARMSTADT, blue in over it KOHL]. Lid lip has separated and some paper is peeling. Top has a paper written with: Please return / To / Helen Kohl / Thank You White twill tape inside the box on both sides of the bottom to stabilize the hat being stored.
