Crazy quilt fragment featuring various velvet and brocade fabrics in browns, blues and reds, all cut in irregular shapes and sizes. Some pieces are embellished with bright threads in the style of crazy quilting. Pieces sewn directly to plain backing with no batting. Backing is two pieces of the same fabric sewn together. Edges of backing and piecing are rough but fragment is in a uniform rectangle, suggesting intent to piece together into a larger piece or simply to finish edges at a later date.
