Daughters of 1812 Will Conduct Funeral
Page six of an unknown newspaper regarding the recent passing of Lydia Cahoon.
During the visit which Mrs. Robert Hale Wiles, National President of the U.S. Daughters of 1812, paid here last winter, a doily of cobweb linen embroidered in the national colors was given her as a souvenir. It was made by the three real daughters of 1812, Miss Lydia, Miss Laura and Miss Ida Cahoon of Rose Hill, Bay village, from a bit of their mothers wedding outfit, hidden from raiders during the War of 1812. Death claimed the oldest sister, Miss Lydia, during the past week and members of Commodore Perry Chapter will attend funeral services and perform for her the ritual of the chapter at 2:00 tomorrow at the old Cahoon homestead, where the three sisters have welcomed their friends year after year in the time of roses.Collection
