Dear Sir,
When at the factory with W.R.Campbell in Nov. past you in his presence spoke of leaving or of coming out here to see us with how much of meaning, you did this, I cannot say, - on our way to Cooperstown Mr. A. said "You talked of leaving them but did not know wether you would or not" Now sir, I have no wish to interfer with those who own that concern nor with any contract you may be under - but, if you do not stay then I should be glad to see you here, as soon as you could come out and take a look at us, + our establishment, + country. Mean time, please tell me confidentially, by letter soon as convenient, how you stand engaged and what I may expect with regard to seeing you here?-
