Dear Parents & Freinds.
A letter from you
last week called out the greatful feelings of my
heart, & prompts an early reply. We sympa-
thize with you in your affliction, & often wish
we could see you; but since the providence of
God has cast our lot here, it seemes not to
be practicable for the present. We were glad
to hear that Mother was recovering from her
shock, & hope that it may not prove to be a
serious injury to her. You say Father that
you can "trust in the Lord"_ I feel also that I
can "trust in the Lord", though His ways, are to
one often mysterious yet what we cannot
see now we may see by-and-by.
We are at work in about our usual course
here, except that we have been holding prayer-
meetings every evening & some afternoons for
a week. Some of them have been quite inter-
esting, & we hope the result may be good.
The church is verry anxious to have a meeting.
I wrote to Eld. Nesbitt some time since to know
whether he could not come & hold a meeting with
us, but he has not answered my letter atall, which
makes me think he may not be at home.
Whether we can get any one els. I do not know.

P.S. If Mother was well, & Father was able, & could con-
veniently leave home, I should be very anxious
to see him at Huntington, on the fourth
Sabbath in Feb.
