Yours of the 9th inst in behalf of your brother was recd here during my absence at Indianapolis & I did not see it till my return. I regret this very much, as the subject of it could as well as not have been attended to then. If Gov Noble shall come to this place during the winter I will write a ?compromise?. I shall not however have much hope of success, for the disposition to putoff is manifest in regard to all that kind of case.
Respectfully LC
R. Crawford.
