Scope and Content

Letter from William H. Cahoon [William Hamblin Cahoon] to cousin Ida Cahoon detailing additional data requested and mentioning his efforts on a multi-state effort to add additional branches to the family genealogy. 2000.FIC.02.005A Pierce Apts., Flint, Mich., Apr. 9,1917. My dear "Cousin Ida," I have been wondering how Sister Lydia is,- I hope she has fully recovered from her recent illness. [Lydia passed away March 29, 1917.] I have been hoping to hear from you in regard to the blanks I sent you, but presume you have been busy. I hope you will find time to get the data together and let me have it so I can start on the next generation. It will be quite a task getting the exact dates and places of more than 600 persons as shown in the blueprint you sent me. I will need the help of someone who is interested, - can you name anyone who would like to help gather data for the sake of doing it and for the mention he would get in the preface of the book if it is published (which I hope it can be)? I have people helping on the Cape Cod, Vermont, Utah, Delaware, 2000.FIC.02.005B and Nova Scotia branches, and I now have over 1000 connected names of persons of Cahoon blood, not counting the Delaware branch which I have not as yet been able to connect although I feel sure they came, or went from Cape Cod. Did I tell you I have found a branch in Utah, - Mormons? There connection to you and to me I will show on the back of your sheet, I am only just getting the data. The name of the principal one was Reynolds. I am also in communication with Benjamin Benson Cahoon, Fredericktown, MO and with Earl E. Cahoon, Akron, O. I shall hope for a letter from you shortly, With kindest regards, I beg to remain, Cordially, your kinsman, W.H.
