2000.FIC.107Scope and Content
Letter on 10 1/2 x 6 paper folded four times, from Wesley Riley to cousin, Matilda. Half the page is illegible. He relates that he has not heard from his cousin in a while and has been thinking of her often. He also hasn't heard from Marcus, and he doesn't know where his regiment is. He would like to visit in Cleveland to see relatives, many he has never met. Lack of funds will prevent him visiting this year. He talks of his stepbrother and father, and mentions how his sister Mary is attending school and doing very well. He mentions his poor health, and the death of his young nephew.Collection
