Dear Sister & Brother
We received your letter by Mr Brown this evening and was pleased to hear of your safe and speedy arrival, and hope that you may be pleased with your new situation etc. We are all well, Daniel has missed his chills and is getting quite well. Daniel took a letter out of the post-office directed to you, which he supposed to be from Judge Eldred and forwarded it to you. Mrs. Ingham sends her best love to Melissa you all and say Melissa must help you for you and all the little Cahoons that are and that will be. Kate sends her best love to you all. We have no news to write. Joel saw Mr. Corl the day after you left -but- he did not pay the sum due to you. he told Joel that he had written to Daniel to explain the writng on the draft - and Joel told him to show it to him and he would explain it to him, he said he would call around in a few hours. Well - he never came. such is Mr. Corl. Daniel has been to Lanesville and Greenville but has affected no sales yet. The children all send their love and a kiss to Mrs. Anastacia and hope that she may enjoy herself in the woods of Kentucky. Joel says he will be down with Mr Brown when he comes up for his Iron.
