Letter of recommendation from D. Lapham concerning J.B. Cahoon. Cincinnati Nov 9, 1841 To R.M. Shoemaker Engineer Mr. J.B. Cahoon, the bearer of this, in connexion with his brother, recently deceased, has completed a section of the Cin + W. Water Canal, including a Lock of 8 feet lift. They have also constructed several bridges across the canal. All their work has been done in a satisfactory manner. It is therefore with pleasure that I recommend Mr. Cahoon to you as a good contractor. Respectfully yours D. Lapham Engineer
