Capt. S. Osborn
Sir yours of the 5 inst.
was read on the 19th I have neglected to
forward your commission to you after this
noting your resignation but I will in-
-close it in this, if I informed you in the
note I sent you that our Reg. muster
was on the 12th of Oct it was a mistake
in for it was on the 12th of Sept. – Sir as
to the inquiry you wish to make of me
with regard to the no it requires to Consti-
-tute a Co. A Co can not be organized
untill it enrolls fifty members,
but in an organized Co of 50 members
it is not reasonable to suppose that the
Co would be disbanded because a member
Should die or otherwise be exempt from
Milit. Duty, as to the understanding
that I had with you on the subject
of your Risignation there was no notice
taken of the 7th Co but I was in hope of
Seeing you to some of the several
meetings of the reg. or officers -
now sir is there is a probability
Of the 7th Co coming to life it would
Bno e pleasing to me to have it effected
I will give orders for an election in
Said Co any time at request the said
Still continues under its old organizati-
-ion and I consider they have a right
To elect their officers if there was more
than 10 persons on the roll. I that Co
Can be raised[?] please give me any informa-
tion needed on the subject.
Yours Respectably
