My Dear Aunt
I think it is too bad that there should be no communication at all between us and our friends in Ohio. I don't see the advantage or purpose of having Relatives at all if one is never goint to associate or communicate with them in the least any more than if they were strangers. Now I am once that you owe mother a letter and I presume that you owe me one for, but of that I am not Entirely Certain however, that makes no difference.
Back Left:
we want very much to hear from you friend, as we have not heard from any of you for over a year. I have been reaching almost constantly, and all the time that I have been at home, I have been taking music lessons, so you see my drive have been fully acceptional.
Our folks are all well ate present, all that are at home. Mothers health is good.
Hiram is in Nebraska, he went there a year ago at last March and has not been home since. Aaron found him there this spring . Aaron is in business in Canada. Hiram has taken up a homestead and built a house and gone to work on it. He taught school last winter at 8 mile a village near his land. ??? has bought a farm
Back Right:
about 1/2 mile out of Orland and is farming for himself. He board at Mr. Bennetts, (the man he bought of) so he is not at home only Sunday. Henry works for a fellow about six miles from town so he is not at home, and I am 2 1/2 mile from home this summer, be you see one family at home is rather small. Father and I attended the official ??? Kenilville this Spring, and there are met a man by the name of ??? who said he used to be acquainted with my Grandfather Aldrich and inquired very particularly about my aunt Elizabeth he asked me ff you married, and who you married, and where you lived and all about it. he said he used to live in Cleveland and it is my final opinion publicly expressed that he must have been very much interested in you in his younger days. Indeed I have hear mother tell
Front Left:
about his coming to your house when you were young and once in particular when Grandma sent him of to Cleveland. I am real glad she sent him off, for I would hate wonderfully to be obliged to call him uncle, he is such a Old Fogy. I think ??? ??? ??? taken real good care of her girls.
Our Aunt Amy will live with people and ??? with Uncle Aaron, and is he well, does Uncle David sail on the lake this seas or there is Aunt Amy and and what is she doing. how are Uncle Henrys folks, I should not be surprised to hear that Lucy + Mary both married. Where do Uncle William folks live now. and how are they all, I think they might some of them come and see us, I wish you and Uncle David will come, you would find it very differently situated turn what we wear where you visited us in Sherwood. We have a comfortable homeCollection
