Scope and Content

Navy Enlistment poster by McClelland Barclay depicting a group of sailors loading artillery to be fired at a german sub. The caption, "'Sub Spotter- Let 'Em Have It!' Lend a Hand - Enlist in your Navy today." This scene of idealistic hyper-masculine action evokes patriotism and is intended to inspire the viewer to enlist so that they may also fight the German oppressors.
