Scope and Content

Article entitled: "Dover's Settlement Its Anniversary Celebrated Yesterday at Rose Hill Sickness Prevents a very large turnout--Mr. Joel B. Cahoon is the Host." Although confined to bed by strokes, Joel Cahoon hosted the celebration again. Due to the stroke, the announcement of the event was late and discouraged many attendees from coming. The article contains an 11 stanza original poem, written by 10 year old Pattie Stair, who was spending her vacation at Rose Hill.
