Buffalo Sunday, March 12th/65
Mary Ann; we didn’t leave Cleve
until last evening on account of
scarcity of cars. But yesterday we
got them all aboard & started them
on ahead at 7 o clock eve. We started at
9 o clock; arrived here about 6 this
morning. Have got into good quarters
at $1.50 per day, the first night
after we left home I got to sleep between
1 & 2 o clock, and last night I got a
number of cat naps; between 2 & 5 o clock
I would get fairly to sleep. (and I dont
know whether I peered any or not) and
some body would come along and wake
me up and then the Conductor must
see my ticket, then go to sleep again
& so on. Once I awake and the cars were
standing sill and 2 or 3 boys were going
through the cars singing out fried cakes
