My dear Julia,
I am sending this
bunch of violets to tell you of my
thought of you today, and every day.
I trust their fragrance may remind
you of friends who hold you in loving
remembrance, and be like pleasant
memories.
Everything speaks of spring this
morning, the warms sunshine and
the songs of many birds which have
come back to us. It will make your
days more cheery to have the cold and
storms give way to a pleasant season.
Some day, when the roads are
better I am coming to see you a little
while. Do you know, I have never been
in your home? Many times I have planned
to go soon, but life has been very busy
with me when well, while my inability to
help myself in and out of the carriage has
prevented many visits I wished to make.
How comforted you must be in
having the loving care of your
daughter! We hope to know her better
as time goes on.
Hoping you may enjoy a word from
me, I remain
Affectionately yours,
