not be in a situation to assist his boys under quite a
number of years. But for one I do not feel disposed
to give away my rite in this estate nor sell for a trifle
the wood now standing on this cut and dressed to
Providence Market would more than pay for the whole
farm. I want you very soon after you receive this
write to me and let me know what the prospect
would be of selling that farm of mine and getting the
value of it into this within one year and what the
prospect is of its growing more valuable my impression
is that if that railroad goes through where I have un
derstood it has been surveyed that land will gain
quite considerable in [hole] write whather there would
be any prospect of you and Brother Joseph making an
exchange with me you take my real estate in Dover
& I yours in Smithfield. Andrew Winsor has got a little
advantage of us and I am afraid he will be disposed to
use it if there is no other way that we can dispose of
our shares in this farm. I must confess I was not a little
surprised when I received the information that the job of
cleaning which was let to Brother Josephs sons was
not fullfilled to the letter I received a letter from
him in August he wrote not a word but that the
job was completed. I shall expect that they will
finish it this winter without fail and if there are logs
yet on the land suitable for saving my will is that
they draw the logs to the mill and split the nails according
to their contract with you. Please to mention in your
next whether that hay is disposed of if not whether
there is a prospect that it will be before you
come to R.I. Dear sisters I have but little room and
time to write a more. Evans is sick in the house
at this time you to be [hole] will both come down in the
spring with your husbands? do not fail.
