Sampler stitched by Elisabeth Winsor when she was 14. Date on sampler completion is March 9, 1809.
Tan colored linen, probably lighter. Stitching is in brown thread. There is evidence of patching to the sampler at the top right.
Alphabet in capital letters, 5/8". First row is from A to S, second row is T-Z. The Z is backwards.
Third row is A-N in a script font with I missing, O-Y with U missing on the second row. Z is missing, but may be from rot. All capitals, 1/2".
Single line of crosses over two threads.
Lower case letters A-W, missing J, 5/8" tall.
Two threads below is a single line of crosses over two threads.
