Included are weather reports, and instructions on how to handle bank stock sales. Mr. Aldrich in turn forwarded the letter for information purposes to "Friends." Over time the bottom line or two has been lost. Transcribed: Aaron Aldrich Esqr. County Cuyahoga Dover Ohio Page 2 Seekonk 29th Nov. 1838. Dear Brother Sir I arrived home the Saturday eve after leaving dover found the folks all well. Mr Weld that he saw Stephen Winsor a few days before & Stephen stated that he should pay the principle & interest for the share that he bought of you in a few days. was to have the money of his brother inlaws on a mortgage. Mr Browns Family expected that Ezekiel would have live homesick & back here again before this time did not like to credit my stating that he seemed well suited. If you hear of a good situation for a school Teacher in your part of the world just send me notice and I will be there in less than not time. Pa bring such a favourable account of the west that my hopes are strong, that my long cherished wish of his going there to settle will be gratified in the course of a year or two. I was much disappointed in not receiving answers to some of my letters to you by him, but will freely excuse you as I known they were not worthy an answer. Thanksgiving day is very much observed by the good people of Mass. by feasting on roast turkeys and plumb puddings, the day passed off well yesterday, and no wonder that half the folks are sick to day and the other half extremely dull, it is the natural effects of departing from the Graham system. My best regards to Uncles, Aunts and cousins in Dover, in haste I am with respect & yours – ¬– – – Seb[?]. Stone
