Description

USNR dog tag. Curved oval shape with a hole on each side. Since dog tags are used for identification purposes, active duty soldiers are required to wear them at all times while in the field, on an airplane or overseas. Dogs tags must be worn around the neck at those times. However, it is generally considered in poor taste to keep dog tags visible in civilian clothes. Tag: BEATRICE / MARION / STOKES / ENS W-VS / T (tetnus shot date) 243 / USNR O During World War II the US military issued Dog Tags to members of the Army, Navy, Marines, Army Air Force, National Guard, Women’s Army Corps, Coast Guard, & Merchant Marines.
