Statement Concerning Immedately South of the Bedford Court HouseDescription
It is a statement of petition to preserve and enhance the Court House and property. A group of Bedford citizens made a cash offer of $20,000 to purchase the property at this price and offer it to the town without profit to themselves.It was also suggested that the Town could pay for with the taxes of one year and would not have to increase taxes to do so afterwards..The statement reitereates the importanceof the Court House not only to the town of Bedford but to the County of Westchester as well. They also want to protect it from encroachment of another building.
