Description

Two-piece dress, 1890s, ivory or light beige crinkle gauze trimmed with bright yolk yellow silk satin ribbons, at the high collar, in vertical bands at the yoke filled in with shirred fabric, and in a large bow at the back of the waist, skirt has spots. Note: this might have been a wedding dress (although the fabric would have been an unusual choice, perhaps it was worn in summer) and then re-trimmed immediately afterward. The ribbon is of the period but somehow feels like an unusual choice. The scattered spots on the skirt could be caramelized champagne splashes.
