Catalogue Card: Wooden doll, "Mary Anne Georgian" circa 1830. The dress is in a costume book of that period. Had been kept in a bureau drawer. Taken to John Noble, Curator of Toys of Museum of City of New York for advice as to restoration who was enthusiastic--in spite of doll's bad condition (no hair, cracks, dress split, etc.) He steamed dress and had doll mounted in the shadow box. Also, painted the watercolor picture of the doll as she was in her youth.
