Description

Tipstaff used by Benjamin Isaacs, Justice of the Peace of the Town of Bedford until 1842, then Dr. Walter Keeler used it for six years during his incumbancy as Justice of the Peace. The last constable to use it was Sanford Studwell. To make his subjects "pay attention". Old label: "found in the Keeler Homestead and given to Keeler heirs to Edward A. P. Jackson and by him presented to the Bedford Museum in 1931."
