Isaacs-Ambler House built in 1791. Believed to be the first house built in Bedford Village after the village was burned by the British in 1779. The fence around the Green was removed about 1912. The street light with kerosene lamp was one of several along Main Street.
Written on back: Benjamin Isaacs- Ben. I. Ambler home in Bedford Village built about 1791. Barns were later demolished and replaced by new residence for Thomas O'Brien;s daughters. Land beyond was given to St. Patrick's Catholic Church and rectory and church erected. Note lam post containing kerosene lamp.
