Oil painting on canvas by Eugen Neuhaus in 2 pieces, rolled up. Dated 1930. One piece is a view East and one view is West (from Berkeley hills). View west of the bay from the Berkeley Hills has been tagged. Originally was plastered on a wall (at Berkeley High School, main building).
Artist 1879-1963. Immigrated to US/California in 1904 from Germany, where he had studied art. Had studio in San Francisco across from Wm. Keith. In 1907 moved to Berkeley, where he taught at U of C for many years and became their first head of the art department. Lecturer, author and teacher as well as artist.
