Plywood and wood dollhouse built by donor's mother (Arza Maude Ralph for her daughter Arza E. Ralph) from plan in newspaper. Originally: the dollhouse is painted creamy white with green sashes and shutters, in a vaguely colonial style. Fanlight over the door. Door and peaked roof missing. Bottom floor has 3 rooms: living roof with red striped wallpaper, red corduroy carpeting, green paper curtains. Hallway is same, with 1 landscape picture cut from newspaper and 2 sugar packets with ducks on them hanging as pictures. Kitchen has blue paper walls and blue plaid paper floor, with white plastic cupboards handing in back right corner. Second floor has bedroom with red velveteen carpet, blue floral wallpaper, white/yellow paper curtains. Hall has green corduroy carpet and white curtains, bathroom has blue plaid floor with pink plastic sink, bathtub, toilet, bedroom has green corduroy carpet, green floral wallpaper, white curtains. Later the furniture was removed and put in a box. See photo. Also included is the newspaper clipping "Make-it Fun" by Charles Dunne. The clipping shows how to build your own 8 room doll house, which is similar to this dollhouse with handyman's tips.Made/Created
