Marston Volunteer Fire Station, 1901. 2100 Addison Street.
William H. Marston was a self-made man. He was born in Maine in 1835. Marston helped the fire department in many ways; North Berkeley needed a firehouse, so he loaned the city $5,000 to construct it. They renamed Columbia Hose Company in his honor. He was made an honorary member of the Volunteer Fire Department, something he took great pride in.
