Description

Marston Volunteer Fire Station, 1901. 2100 Addison Street. William H. Marston was a self-made man. He was born in Maine in 1835. Marston helped the fire department in many ways; North Berkeley needed a firehouse, so he loaned the city $5,000 to construct it. They renamed Columbia Hose Company in his honor. He was made an honorary member of the Volunteer Fire Department, something he took great pride in. Dressed in final tribute to President Mckinley, September 17, 1901
