Description

Round metal button with paper and plastic front, metal back and pin. Orange and red text and background: ELECT JOHNSON MAYOR. (Elect mayor in red on orange and Johnson in orange on red). Wallace Johnson was mayor 1963-1971. Republican, political maverick, supported an important land-use decision in the early 60's --supported a bond issue to keep the Berkeley BART line underground (it would thus not visibly divide East and West Berkeley). BART Director 1967-70.
