Engraved metal plate with picture of Columbia-Marston Firefighters posed in front of an American flag. Displayed in front at their feet are tools including 2 axes and a firehose. Written at the bottom, right corner :"H.P. Scranton Sept. 1901". The plate is nailed to a wood block and on the reverse side is glued a paper print of the engraving. On the paper print is glued a label "COLUMBIA-MARSTON COMPANY" and written in ink, at the top/ right are the words "used in 1952". The block is from the Berkeley Fire Dept. (Presumedly the Columbia-Marston group was precusor to BFD?)Made/Created
