Landlocked striped bass (also known as rock fish) weighing 42.5 lbs. and measuring 42 inches long. Caught January 2, 1947 below the grills at the Pinopolis Dam by Mr. John H. Turnage.

Context

A note with the fish reads in part: Mr. Turnage was fishing near the dam in deep water using a 5 ft. Kingfisher glass rod, Pfleuger Supreme reel, 20 lb. test nylon braided line and a Creek Chub breakback lure. In freezing cold weather, it took nearly two hours to boat the bass!
