Commemorative Spade, 39.5" long, of wood and iron, used by Prime Minister Winston Churchill to plant a commemorative tree in the grounds of Government House dn January 15, 1942, during his war-time visit to Bermuda. Donated to the Bermuda Historical Society by Governor Viscount Knollys. In 48 x 10.65 x 5H wooden box with glassed top. Hanging in the Somers Room, at the bottom of the steps leading up to the Circulation Library.
